During the last ten years, he has helped college and high school theatre students create the thirty-six-room fright factory, The Basement , at the Muncie (Indiana) Children’s Museum and The Haunted Auditorium, a fundraiser for Muncie Burris/Indiana Academy Thespian Troupe 712. Michael Bigelow Dixon (“On Monsters”) is an assistant professor in the theatre program at Transylvania Univer-sity in Lexington, Kentucky, and a regular contributor to Teaching Theatre and Dramatics magazines. Jon Jory (On Acting) was the founding artistic director of the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven and produc-ing director at Actors Theatre of Louisville for more than thirty years. While at ATL he created and led the annual Humana Festival of New American Plays, which remains the American theatre’s most important showcase for new work. His new book Teaching the Actor Craft is published by Smith and Kraus. He teaches at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. Stacy Sims (“A Play of One’s Own”) is a novelist, play-wright, and wellness activist who lives in Cincinnati. Her work was last seen in these pages last month with her profile of Squonk Opera’s Pneumatica . Playwright and critic Jeffrey Sweet (New York) comments on theatre in New York and elsewhere in these pages monthly. He is the author of Flyovers , The Action Against Sol Schumann , Berlin ’45 , Bluff , Court Martial at Fort De-vens , Kunstler , and many other plays.
